Online surveys

A great way of collecting information from a lot of different people is to use an online survey.  Web tools such as Google Docs and SurveyMonkey allows you to easily create online forms (or surveys) with a variety of different types of questions for the survey participants to fill in.  As each survey response is collected, it is stored in a spreadsheet and after all responses have been collected a graphical summary of the survey results can be viewed.  The spreadsheet can also be downloaded to your PC for further analysis and reporting.

There are lots of great uses for online surveys at school, including collection and presentation of responses for :

  • Maths Surveys
  • Student maths project (includes graphing of responses)
  • Student evaluations (ie camps, excursions, sports day, projects etc)
  • Staff Questionairres (ie ICT survey)
  • Parent Questionairres (ie parents views on particular topic)
