RM Easyteach Training

On Saturday 26th February I attended an RM Easyteach training session with 2 teachers from the school.  The 3 hour session was presented by Mark Robinson.  As well as introducing us to the basic functions of the Polyvision Interactive White Board, Mark demonstrated a lot of Easyteach documents that he had set up and has given us to use.  Some memorable examples included :

  1. Recording the reading of a story and placing the voice recording behind the words in a story.
  2. Inserting clip art, photos, sound files and videos into documents.
  3. Matching sounds with words.
  4. Setting up ‘flash cards’.
  5. Handwriting recognition.
  6. Setting up counting exercises by inserting pictures in the document that can be copied many times.  Students can then point to the object and drag it to a ‘counting area’ until they get the correct number of objects.  This can also be used to learn about money by using pictures of all the coins and notes in our currency.
  7. Similarly to 4 above, setting up classifying exercises by inserting pictures in the document that can be dragged and moved to different areas of the document.
  8. An animated diagram of the solar system with planets moving around the sun and moons moving around the planets.
  9. Setting up a ‘roll call’ where students can drag their name or picture to an ‘In’ area, indicating whether they are at school or not that morning.

We left the training session with lots of Easytech examples to play with and these have been stored on our staff drive in ‘IWB Resources > 0  Easiteach to Share 2010’.   There are also lots of downloadable resources at http://www.easiteach.com.au/resources.php. If you would like assistance setting up Easyteach documents for your class, please let me know.
