Modern technology offers so many great ways for our students to communicate outside of the classroom and participate in a global community. In recent years our students have used Skype to participate in a video conference with people in Fiji, Cambodia, USA and Australia to assist with their Units of Inquiry. Mr Pfieffer’s Year 2 class recently used the Facetime iPad app to catch up with one of the students who is touring around Australia. From the back seat of her car, the student was able to speak to the class about her trip and the places she had visited so far. From the classroom, the students enthusiastically asked questions, shared news and sang “Happy Birthday”. It was such as great learning and sharing experience.
